| Get insight in your IPv6 visitors! |

IPv6 could be vital to our economy and innovation in the years to come. That’s why we are monitoring IPv6 deployment. Part of that monitoring is gaining insight in the number of IPv6 versus IPv4 users. For this, we need your help as a webmaster. We provide a script that will do the monitoring, and we provide a portal where you can get access to only your own data. All you need to do to gain insight in the number of visitors of your website that are capable of accessing the IPv6 Internet, is to put our script on your website. It does not matter if your website is only addressable by IPv4! Interested? Read the details below, or download the white paper here.
Why measure IPv6 user percentage? The available IPv4 address spaces are running out and internet users will need to migrate to IPv6 at some point. It is important for websites to be aware of the percentage of visitors that are IPv6 capable. This helps to make a proper transfer from IPv4 to IPv6 and to maintain connectivity with a growing number of mobile and fixed IPv6 users. What do we offer? We offer you the opportunity to participate in a measurement campaign that will provide you with the percentage of IPv6 enabled visitors of your website. This objectively measured information is important for determining a suitable migration path from an IPv4 enabled website to a website that can be visited through both IPv4 and IPv6 Internet. How does it work?In order for the measurements to take place, webmasters place a Java script on well-visited web pages for which they would like to measure the percentage of IPv6 capable users. There is no limitation to the number of websites or the number of web pages per website. When a user visits a web page containing the script, the script is executed and the browser of the visitor will try to access our IPv6-deployment measurement platform in three different ways. The platform records whether access took place to
Based on the recorded hits at the measurement platform we can determine both IPv6 and IPv4 capabilities of the visitor. After accessing our platform a cookie is set for 24 hours to avoid repetitive interaction to the measurement platform and thus unnecessary load of the server and the visitors’ platform. How do I participate? You can participate by registering as many websites as you want. You will be able to monitor the results of each website you register. Register your websiteYou can register a website in five easy steps:
The main page will display all the websites you already registered, including the corresponding codes. Clicking on the codes will give you an overview of the details of the registered website and how it can be activated (steps 3, 4 and 5 above). Monitor your websiteWhen you have completed the five steps above, the measuring platform will check if the website you registered is yours by matching the unique code in the database and in the Java script on your website. This check can take one or two days. After this, you will be able to view the results of your website in three steps:
Step 3 will take you to the graphs that summarize the results of your website.
