Part of the IPv6 Deployment Monitoring project is to build up indicators for measuring IP and DN deployment and develop respective measurement data collection methodology.  With the indicators, IP and DN deployments in 52 selected countries/economies will be assessed and compared.  With the measuring results we expect to gain insight in the global IP address and domain name deployment status and the country-to-country comparison on the deployment status.

In this section, we present the main results of the objective statistical data that has been collected. IP address statistics:

• Global allocation: The global IPv4/IPv6 address allocation/advertisement Status
• Per country allocation: The IPv4/IPv6 address allocation/advertisement Status in each country
• IPv4 usage charge: The dedicate IPv4 address usage charge
• Address block assigned: Number of /8 IPv4 or /32 IPv6 address block assigned and advertised v.s. Economic & ICT indicators
• Allocation vs. Economy: The number of IPv4/IPv6 addresses allocated per 100 inhabitants vs. national economical and ICT indicators
• IPv6 services: The IPv6 service offering status in major Internet content providers’ websites

Domain Name statistics (not yet available on this website):

• Registered gTLD: The number of gTLD names registered in the world
• Registered ccTLD per country: The number of ccTLD names registered in each country (52 countries)
• Registered ccTLD vs economy: The number of ccTLD names registered vs. the national economical and ICT indicators
• WWW services: The percentage of domain names registered that provide world wide web services (coming soon)
